Meet Arlo: A dark Ruby Parti Cavapoo with a beautifully unique twist, and without a doubt, the most phenomenal sire we could ever dream of having! Arlo is wonderfully quirky and the thing that most people remember and love about him is his absolutely huge, infectious smile! Arlo is fiercely devoted, loves to give us hugs, and is the very hallmark of obedience—that is, until you ask him to perform a trick for an audience, at which point his adorable shyness steals the show! When it comes to his daily adventures, Arlo absolutely loves walks and hikes, and he will happily bounce around us just like a young puppy! His wonderfully happy nature goes with him absolutely wherever he goes, and he is even curious enough to point at birds, which beautifully showcases the wonderful diversity in his line. While Cavalier King Charles Spaniels were historically bred as noble companions rather than hunters, those deep, ancient "wild" traits can still be passed down through the generations. When you combine that with his Poodle heritage—a breed that heavily carries those strong working and hunting traits—you get a truly fascinating genetic blend. Watching Arlo tap into those ancestral roots to point at a feathered friend is a beautiful reminder of just how rich and robust his background truly is. Yet, for all his wonderful energy outdoors, Arlo also absolutely loves to cuddle and have downtime. He truly is the perfect balance between being able to completely settle and happily play.

Arlo was born and raised here at Pleasant Meadows, and he has truly grown into the ultimate cornerstone of our breeding program. To understand the full significance of this incredible lineage, we have to delve into some family history! Amedeo (Arlo's grandfather) is a very special Cavapoo that was more "spaniel-like" in his appearance, and he sported an "eyebrow" which gave him a quizzical look! So, not only did Arlo end up looking very much like his grandfather in his markings and size, but Amedeo’s influence also means that Arlo is a very unique Cavapoo with more Cavalier King Charles Spaniel influence in the mix than would normally be present in this generation of Cavapoo.

 

Arlo has been carefully and selectively bred to retain a higher percentage of Cavalier in his genetic make-up, but still have the perfect curly fur that will in turn produce dream curls in his future puppies, solidifying his status as a truly world-class stud. Arlo is genetically similar to an F2B Cavapoo in terms of the ratio of Cavalier and Poodle in his diverse genetic make-up, and he has three generations of health-cleared dogs behind him.

 

This makes Arlo very unique in his ability of being allergy-friendly with his beautiful Poodle-like curly coat, but he can produce everything from straighter and more Cavalier-like fur depending on who he is bred to, right up to very Poodle-like fur when he is paired with a Poodle. Arlo's brilliant contribution will help maintain a more even ratio in temperament between the Cavalier and Poodle in future generations, and his pairings will produce a wide range of gorgeous puppies that will be suitable no matter your fur-type preference or allergy needs.

Over half of Arlo's puppies have gone on to serve in vital supportive roles, ranging from treasured unofficial emotional support companions to fully accredited St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs. His puppies regularly bring comfort to the community by participating in school reading programs, visiting hospitals, and brightening senior care homes. Furthermore, Arlo has produced stellar Certified Therapy Dogs, PTSD Service Dogs, and Medical Alert Service Dogs. His magnificent line has also been incredibly successful in providing intuitive, unofficial therapy and support for children on the neurodivergent spectrum, including those with Autism and Down Syndrome.

 

For new families visiting our website who might not immediately do the math from his 2018 start, our sweet Arlo is now 8 years old (as of 2026)! In the dog breeding world, a stud dog's typical "fertile window" for peak activity generally spans from their early adult years up to around 6 or 7 years of age. While Arlo remains in absolute peak physical condition and incredible health, we are mindful that his natural breeding window is gently winding down. Because of this, every single upcoming litter is meticulously and strategically planned to profoundly influence and beautifully preserve the future of our breeding program. This makes his current and future puppies all the more precious, as we purposefully work to carry his magnificent legacy forward for generations to come.
