Tanny is a Tri-Colour Tibetan Spaniel X Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Tanny has received the longer legs and of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but has the sweet and loyal nature of the Tibetan in addition to the beautiful temperament of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Tanny is a purpose-bred mix to combine size, temperament, and better health traits for the future. The diversity of combining the Tibetan Spaniel with the Cavalier will provide much needed health benefits and will double up on the "spaniel charm" for those who love the Cavalier and similar spaniels!

When Tanny is bred to our Poodle males, she will produce Cavapoos with a "dash" of Tibetan Spaniel -- the ratio would be 25% Cavalier, 25% Tibetan Spaniel, 50% Poodle. And it is our goal to improve the health of the Cavalier through eventually keeping a "Cavalier-like" puppy with good health diversity for the future.​​​

Tanny joined our family as a puppy from a breeder in Alberta who is likewise dedicated to restoring the health of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  We also have Tanny's full sister Tibby, but she shorter Tibetan legs, instead of the longer Cavalier legs that Tanny received!

A fun fact about Tanny's name:  We chose to honour the fact that she is part Tibetan Spaniel and her name represents the second part of Tibetan in the form of "Tanny".  Her sister's name "Tibby" is the first portion of Tibetan.

Tanny's heart health is verified via an ECG machine prior to breeding.

The heterozygosity test is SO IMORTANT for any Cavalier mix and breeding should only take place when a dog is at the high end of the typical range for their particular mix to maintain overall diversity and health!
