This will be Atira and Reuben's first litter together! We anticipate that their
puppies will mature to be in the estimated range of 16 to 20 lbs.
ALL PUPPIES WILL BE "SOLID" (NO WHITE) *OR* "ABSTRACT" (MOSTLY SOLID WITH WHITE ACCENTS)
*OR* A SMALL CHANCE OF "PARTI" (WHITE WITH PATCHES)

Birth Announcement:
Atira's puppies are 2 weeks old! At this stage, like any babies, their days mostly consist of eating and sleeping. They are nursing vigorously, growing steadily and are very strong puppies ~ they are already able to lift their weight as they army crawl around the whelping box.
Their eyes are just starting to open, and they will be fully open in a few days. Once open, a whole new world of curiosity and exploration will begin. In the coming days and weeks, they will learn how to decipher the world they visually see and hear, compared to what they had only smelled, tasted and felt, and they will learn new skills based on the world around them.
Each of the puppies have been given an identification name that the families on the list are welcome to keep or they can choose a name of their own choice. For now, we will refer to the puppies with the ID names we have selected.
We hope that as the puppies continue to grow over the coming weeks that you will be able to see them blossom in their personalities and get to know them a little better through their photos and videos.
Part of what we do as a responsible breeder is observing the puppies throughout their daily care and noting how they respond to everything they are exposed to, and this litter from Atira and Reuben has caught our eye! The calm nature that we can see being instilled in Atira's puppies and how they respond to us and their daily routine even at this young age is exactly what we want to see in our puppies! Atira's mom is a certified service dog, and her dad and mom have produced many puppies that have gone on to do therapy work in various capacities, and we see the same potential in Atira's puppies!
We trimmed the puppies nails, wiped them with puppy wipes, and weighed them for accurate deworming dosage prior to their photos today. And we have included the time of birth for each puppy for anyone who was curious.

The puppies weights are everything that we would expect from Reuben's side of the family tree all the way up to Atira's influence and we have a good range in size for the families on this list. All of the puppies are equally strong and thriving!
Those on the list will find the link and password for our "Taking Home Puppy Instructional" in the e-mail for the puppies 2-week update, which helps prepare you for adding a puppy to your home, and gives you useful tips and information about feeding, diet, health, training, grooming, and more!
We will be in touch with families on the list soon for the puppy-choosing schedule -- please be patient as we work our way down the list to schedule you in for an in-person visit or a video call!

Birth Announcement:
Atira has given birth to a beautiful litter of EIGHT puppies ~ 4 BOYS and 4 GIRLS!
All went very smoothly for Atira once she actually went into labour! She kept us guessing for 4 days, but the lack of sleep was well worth the wait for these lovely puppies! They were born between 7:10 PM and 10:34 PM on May 2nd and Atira did a great job without any complications ~ just quick and easy which is what we want for all of our mommas! In this litter there are various shades of ruby from light to dark, some puppies with and without white markings, and we have one male puppy that is white with light ruby patches. And if you have followed along on our website for a while you will know that his patches will take time to "appear" and the white boy will not be "so white" once his colour starts to come in (like a Dalmatian's spots that take time).

We will highlight the puppies individually in their 2 week update, but in the photos where they are lined up in a row they are alternating boy, girl, boy, etc. starting with a boy on the left and ending with a girl on the right.
The puppies are all nursing well and Atira is doing a wonderful job caring for her babies! This is Atira's second litter and her mothering skills are a prime example of why we keep from our lines, they are strong, and we can trust that they will have a beautiful temperament when we see how our momma's care for their puppies with such tenderness. Atira's easy going nature was passed down from her mother and father, and the same will be for this litter of puppies from Atira and Reuben.
We look forward to watching the puppies grow over the coming weeks and sharing more with the families on Atira's list!
The next scheduled puppy update will be when the puppies are 2 weeks old on Thursday, May 16th when the puppies turn 2 weeks old.

As the coming weeks unfold ~ we encourage families to think about the type of puppy they want to add to their home, and as you watch the future videos and view photos, try not to fall in love with a specific puppy based solely on appearance. Looks change with age, and what is the most important is to be matched to a puppy that will be the right fit for your home based on energy and temperament, and we will help to guide you to the right puppy at 5-6 weeks of age when we invite families to choose their puppy in person or via video call (you can choose which option).
